our mission statement at East Wilkes Middle School is that together we learn lead and succeed it goes right along with our leader me program that we have Incorporated here at the school and life skills to students the seven set a timer for fected people is a key process of leader in me East Wilkes Middle School became certified and was named a lighthouse school by Franklin Covey education in 2029 with Leader in Me is the fact that every student can be a lie so what's really really important for us is creating jobs and Leadership opportunities for them so my classroom every student has a job the behavior issues don't arise because they feel like they have a purpose I have seen students kept up to serve in ways that they didn't before we are allowed school and they are willing to volunteer they recognize they have a place and a voice and strengths that they can bring to the school even if it says sample I'm in charge of turning off the TV every afternoon they're concerned about their part and doing their part to make our school work better and work for each other each grade level has the opportunity to serve on Lighthouse team this is a big responsibility for students as it's their job to promote the Leader in Me model we help the school make decision basically the voice for Leanne we help our student body make choices throughout this who made as a group and we almost every single weight if we have a dance coming up we going to help do some stuff with a dance or a pep rally to find that we have a long-standing Heritage of both academics and Athletics we do offer several extracurricular activities such as Club iron virus on team we always go deep into the state when it comes to competition we actually have a bicycle repair shop that is one of our clubs that is fun by one of our CT teachers here at school waiting for some really neat CTE courses in programming for Minecraft programming class we offer stem activities all kinds of excellent things that will help our students be successful as they move into their my favorite part about being a shooting at East Wilkes middle definitely the variety of classes that they have I feel like East provides the opportunity for the students if they're not athletic can enjoy the envirothon if they enjoy the fan or art every student has some type of group whether it be small or large set they can really fit into middle school has created an encouraging classroom environment inspires and teacher satisfaction the like we built our own classroom communities so really getting to know that student is the Together part I can like the learning environment is very good the teachers are always positive they always help you if you need anyting the teachers the staff principles you name it they're all really nice really helpful it's just a joy when you get up in the morning what about coming to school and spending time with the colleagues and the student to work with their excited to be here and that's what makes it special welcome to East Wilkes Middle School home of the Scorpions
